Why USD/JPY Is a Safe-Haven Pair
The Japanese yen is a traditional safe-haven currency. When global risk appetite falls, investors buy JPY — pushing USD/JPY down. This is the opposite of USD/ZAR, which rises (ZAR weakens) in risk-off environments.
